Preamble

The KokuDoku Operator (hereinafter referred to as the "Operator") recognizes the appropriate handling of user personal information in the applications and related services provided by the Operator (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") as a social responsibility and strives to protect personal information based on the following policy.

Article 1: Personal Information

"Personal information" in this Privacy Policy refers to "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and includes name, email address, user ID, password, and other information that can identify a specific individual.

Article 2: Methods of Collecting Personal Information

1. The Operator acquires personal information through the following methods:
   • Information provided by users
     • Name, email address, user ID, password
     • Credit card information (at the time of billing)
     • Information entered by the user in other input forms defined by the Operator
2. Information collected through integration with external services (if the user permits integration with external services such as Amazon Kindle, Notion, and GitHub)
   • The user ID used in the respective external service
   • Other information permitted to be disclosed by the privacy settings of the respective external service
3. Information automatically collected upon using the Service
   • Terminal information (device ID, OS, browser information, etc.)
   • Log information (access date and time, IP address, referral URL, etc.)
   • Cookies and anonymous IDs
   • Service usage history (number of reading records created, number of OCR uses, number of Kindle highlights, etc.)

Article 3: Consent Acquisition Method and Request for Suspension of Use

1. The Operator shall obtain user consent before collecting the following user information:
   • Terminal information
   • Camera information (when using the OCR function)
2. Users can request the suspension of the collection and use of user information through the Service's settings screen or withdrawal procedures. However, as some information is essential for providing the Service, withdrawal may be necessary to stop collection.

Article 4: Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

The Operator uses acquired personal information for the following purposes:

1. To provide, operate, and improve the Service
2. For user identity verification, authentication, and support
3. To save, display, and organize data such as reading notes and highlights
4. To notify regarding maintenance, important notices, changes to terms, etc.
5. For creating statistical data and utilization in development through anonymization processing
6. To prevent unauthorized use and ensure security
